Arrest of El Chino Linked to Ayotzinapa Case

David Cruz Hernández, known as "El Chino" or "Bombero", was arrested in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of 43 students from the Rural Normal School "Raul Isidro Burgos" in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, which occurred in 2014.

At the time of the arrest, he was found in possession of a firearm with four cartridges, a package of methamphetamine, two bundles of marijuana, and two mobile phones. "El Chino" was sought due to suspicions related to the crime involving the forced disappearance of people.

Hernández worked in 2014 in Fire Safety and Rescue Service in Iguala de la Independencia, Guerrero, and had links to the criminal group "Guerreros Unidos", where he played the role of a recruiter and executioner. Moreover, in 2023 he worked as a trusted associate of González Martin Souza Neves, known as "Uruguayo", also a member of "Guerreros Unidos", currently serving time in prison in Mexico for drug trafficking and involvement in the disappearance of 43 students.

As a result of the investigation, it became known that "Bombero" maintained connections with other suspected individuals in the disappearances of students. He was also linked to illegal drug trafficking in Mexico, which enhanced his image as one of the serious criminals, according to information from the Security Secretariat and civil protection.
